It is 1989. The fall of the Berlin Wall creates a euphoric moment in world history. But after the celebrations, ghosts of past loves, lies and betrayal emerge that have haunted a family across generations.
An American woman brings the body of her German born mother to be buried in a cemetery formerly behind the Wall. Estranged from her own daughter, it is only together that the two women can unravel their family's dark history, lay the past to rest and discover love for each other.
